Hello,
we are two cousins interested in participating in the ARC 2015. Please allow us to introduce ourselves:
Julian is 30 years old, German national with very good English and Spanish language skills. Originally trained as a chef and sommelier, he has changed tack and now works as a software consultant for Audi.
He has experience in inshore pleasure and competitive sailing and you can expect him to fulfill a role as competent crew member and daytime watch leader.
As a trained chef he would also be able to cook meals within the limited resources on board during the crossing.
Rolf is 47 years old, British and German national with excellent English language skills. Originally a trained Anaesthesiologist, he now works in his own general practice and as a leading emergency physician for the district of Paderborn in Germany.
He has almost 30 years of inshore sailing experience in the North and Baltic Sea and in the Med in both pleasure and competitive sailing. You can expect him to work as a day and night time watch leader and as navigator, should this be required.
As a very experienced doctor he is able to deal with virtually any medical emergencies and would bring his own comprehensive equipment and drugs for this.
Together we have sailed a lot. We have several participations in the NHS-Regatta under our belts and are therefore tried and tested to function within a team and to perform tasks like sail trimming and emergency procedures.
Although we both have licenses as coastal skippers and Rolf also for VHF radio, we realize that these have only little value on a project like this. We would very much welcome the opportunity to vastly expand our skills and to grow together as a successful team.
If interested, please contact us via this web site or by email: rolfvogel@gmx.de or by mobile phone number +49 178 6643335.
Thank you very much for reading! We hope to hear from you.
Julian and Rolf
